Frequently Asked Questions:

●  How do I book a session with you?

Visit VERSatileOptics.com/booking to inquire. Investment information and scheduling can be found at versatileoptics.com/investment.

●  How long will it take to get the photos back?

We at VERSatile Optics pride ourselves on our industry-leading turnaround time! In most cases, you’ll receive your retouched digital images in 48 hours or less! With weddings, you’ll receive your retouched digital images within a week of your wedding date. After you’ve selected prints to order, you can expect them to arrive within 3-5 business days.

●  What if I want professional makeup?

We do a lot of networking, and we know a few great makeup artists! Let us know at the time of your booking and we will set it up for you! The cost will be included in the price of your session.

●  How do you select your locations?

In most cases, our clients know where they want to shoot. We specialize in on-location photography, but we can be flexible if you need a specific backdrop or setting. Just let us know at the time of booking so we can plan accordingly!

●  What will happen if there is bad weather?

Ryan is a nerd who constantly checks the weather app on his phone (he may have missed his calling as a meteorologist haha). In the event of bad weather, we can move to an indoor location (when available, COVID-19 may prevent many indoor sessions due to CDC restrictions). Worst case, we’ll move it either before or after the weather occurs.

●  What should I expect the day of my session?

Expect a fun time! Come relaxed and with an open mind. Some poses may feel awkward, but the results will be great! All members of the VO team are fun-loving professionals who love what they do. We’re going to make sure you have fun in the process.

●  What do you shoot with?

We’re #TeamCANON! Nikon and Sony are cool too… We just happen to all be Canon shooters.
We use pro-level camera bodies and premium lenses (not the entry-level kits you find at Walmart… those are fine for beginners, but we’re advanced users).
Example: Canon 5D Mark IV, Canon 85mm 1.4 L, Canon 35mm 1.4 L II etc…
More importantly, we invest time into mastering our craft to create the best results with whatever we shoot with. Our philosophy… it’s not the car, it’s the driver. Just like it’s not the microphone, it’s the singer. Or it’s not the stove, it’s the chef. You get it.

●  I just bought a camera! Do you teach beginners?

Ryan will be the first to tell you, “Teachers are super heroes. I do not possess that super power.”

●  Do you give the unedited images too?

We DO NOT release unedited images for any reason, as this is not an adequate representation of our work. McDonalds won’t give you a raw potato along with your freshly cooked French fries. Apple won’t give you a prototype of your new iPhone along with the retail device (trust me, I’ve tried).  That would be bad customer service. We are artists, and we are sensitive about our pics. Please respect this. For more information, see our terms and conditions.
